Every September, sporting organisations around the world honour coaches by recognising their dedication and efforts in guiding their athletes/participants on their journeys of becoming better people and better athletes. ISA Certificate in Basic Sports Massage

This course emphasizes the techniques of deep tissue and recovery massage. Participants will learn essential concepts such as Human Anatomy and Kinesiology in order to build a strong foundation which will aid them in massage. Participants will then learn how to conduct massage techniques such as effleurage, petrissage and tapotement. Participants will also learn the indications / contraindications and the appropriate application of these approaches for various conditions. Additionally, this course provides participants with an understanding of basic medical terminology and the relationship between anatomy/physiology and the practice of sports massage. Finally, participants must complete 10 hours of a massage attachment under the supervision of the trainer.

Kids Multi-Sports Coach Course

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

Understand the Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) principles for a lifetime of sporting and active lifestyles
Conduct a full battery of locomotor and object control Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS) assessments for children aged 3 to 10 years’ old
Manage group tests and their results, via the world’s first and most comprehensive FMS Assessment Portal and Software App System
Design and plan year-long, multi-sport coaching programmes for children aged 3 to 10 years’ old
Plan and implement age-appropriate, FMS-based multi-sport lesson plans for children

ISA Certificate in Exercise Prescription for Special Populations (Metabolic and Cardiovascular Disease Individuals)

Metabolic syndrome identifies people with an increased risk of developing cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes mellitus. The different risk factors for metabolic syndrome includes central obesity, hypertension, hyperglycaemia, dyslipidaemia and obesity. Lifestyle intervention such as incorporating physical activity has been shown to reduce the risk of developing cardiovascular disease in this population. This workshop will prepare participants with the exercise prescription guidelines and recommendations for people with cardiovascular disease.  Special considerations during training will also be covered for the respective populations.  The exercise guidelines and recommendations taught in this workshop will be presented using the frequency, intensity, time, and type (FITT) principle, which are core components of an exercise prescription.

ISA Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist Course

Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists (CSCSs) are professionals who apply scientific knowledge to train athletes for the primary goal of improving athletic performance. They conduct sport-specific testing sessions, design and implement safe and effective strength training and conditioning programs and provide guidance regarding nutrition and injury prevention. Recognizing that their area of expertise is separate and distinct, CSCSs consult with and refer athletes to other professionals when appropriate.
